Opening Reception: 7th of March, 6 - 8 pm
West End Art Space

My continued fascination of the Australian High Country and its wildflowers is the inspiration for this most recent body of work.

A deep sense of calm washes over me as I head into the High Country, I’ve been coming onto the mountains for over 40 years and documenting this unique landscape for over 20 years – with each passing season my connection grows deeper.

My interpretation of the landscape is expressed with a light joyous energy full of movement - it’s a felt emotion.

Subtle vibrations in colour drawn from the landscape, keeps the surface active and draws the viewer in, revealing hidden details unseen tonally from a distance.

The fast-drying nature of acrylic paint suits my process and allows me to be in one continuous flow with extensive colour mixing across the layers.

I’m curious by nature and thrive on the exploration of pigments and their individual characteristics in translucency, opacity and the interaction of colour with it’s surroundings.
